Crostata frolla alla rosa e uva fragola/ Fox grape and rose water shortcrust pie

Can you remember the post about fox grape? Well, with part of that jam (which is extremely sweet), we prepared a delicious tart.
But to make it, we also "invented" a special pastry: a rose flavored pastry.

We had the idea to flavor it with rose water and that we did.

I must say that everybody have their personal favorite recipe for shortcrust pastry, and that I often do not use butter at all due to the allergies we have in our family, and that I personally push for the use of a kitchen robot to make it, although I know that, at least in Italy, many consider it as heretic. I'll write my recipe and my personal variation to it.

Ingredienti / Ingredients:

400 gr. farina di frumento /400 gr. wheat flour
180 gr. burro/margarina (se allergici controllate molto bene che non vi siano plv, molte ne hanno o hanno grassi animali) 180 gr. butter/margarine (if somebody is allergi, check very well that among the ingredients there are no animal fats or butter, many do have butter in the list)
1 uovo /1 egg
acqua di rose alimentare /rose water

Preparazione / How to do it:

Prepare as a normal shortcrust pastry: rub the butter in the flour until you have sort of breadcrumbs made of flour and butter mixed together, then add just enough rose water as to be able to glue the lumps together to form a ball. Put the ball covered in the refrigerator for about 1/2 hour.

Take the ball out of the refrigerator and make a shortcrust case with a rolling pin. Fill with fox grape, prepare some decorations made of the remaining shortcrust pastry and decorate your cake (here I used cookie cutters in the form of butterflies and cloves). Bake it at 180°C for about 40 minutes. Enjoy!

Next time I'll use my rose water shortcrust recipe for biscuits, so that the flavor and perfume of roses will be stronger, as here the taste and perfume of fox grape is dominant!
